My rates are different for schools and organizations depending on the scope of the project and school budget.
The rate will primarily depend on the location of the school, the duration and type of event (classroom visits, school wide assemblies, book reading and signing, publishing or AAPI workshops etc).
My prices typically range around the school's PTO honorarium to $1500 depending on the scope of the project. Book purchases for all the classrooms and school libraries are often part of the arrangement.

Typically the event consists of a read aloud and author Q&A. It is usually 45 mins for K-2nd grade and another 45 mins for 3-5th grade class. Some schools will also include an educators workshop for using multicultural books in classrooms.
Presentations topics are discussed beforehand depending on the theme the school/organization would like for me to focus on. The best way to ensure the event would be a successful one is to chat over a call!

I do author events for small classroom settings, grade wide events, and full school events. I’m happy to read to a class of 15 in a preschool or a school of 900 students! I’ve done it all and LOVE both experiences.
Zoom events can last as quickly as 30 minutes and in person can last as long as 4 hours and more!
